Myth: Chiropractic Adjustment Makes Back Pain Worse

Truth: Chiropractic adjustments are controlled, precise and carefully delivered techniques when performed by a trained and experienced chiropractor. A good chiropractor (such as those working at our clinic) will carefully diagnose a spine problem, and where appropriate, deliver an adjustment or manual technique to the spine to. These techniques improve joint mobility and reduce pain. Transient (short lasting) pain after adjustment can occur.

Myth: Massage Worsens Back Pain

Truth: Again, massage therapy, when performed by a trained and experienced Licensed Massage Therapist (such as those working at our clinic), are able to deliver the right massage to the right area for the right problem.

Massage brings two main benefits: physical and mental relaxation and increase of pain threshold through the release endorphins.

Myth: Herniated Disc Won’t Heal Without Surgery

Research shows that more than 85% of people with disc herniations will recover without surgery within 8-12 weeks.
